A new apartment building is under construction at Echelon City Center, a master-planned development, in the Carillon business park of St. Pete.

Earlier this year, St. Pete Rising reported on a 17-story apartment building planned for a 1.88-acre site, dubbed “Site9,” at 221 Main Street North.

After completing site preparations earlier this year, a tower crane has been erected on site and vertical construction is ready to begin. At 176 feet, the building will be one the tallest in St. Petersburg outside of downtown.

Plans for the building call for 176 luxury apartments, 16,350 square feet of ground floor retail space, and the construction of a 0.4-acre park.

The building will also feature 325 parking spaces, including 12 electric vehicle charging stations, on floors two through six. Floors 7 through 15 will feature one- and two-bedroom apartments while floors 16 and 17 will have eight large townhome units.

Site9 will be located adjacent to two recently completed multifamily developments – Waterview and Axio at Carillon. Waterview is a 15-story development, also developed by Echelon, at 100 Main Street that features 226 units while Axio at Carillon is a five-story building with 298 units.

Both buildings opened in 2021 and sold after completion for $100 million and $90.9 million, respectively.

The project is also located near a highly-anticipated Topgolf facility which is under construction at 220 Carillon Parkway.

Site9 was designed by ARC3 Architecture. KAST Construction is serving as the general contractor for the project. 

While a construction timeline has not been announced, completion will likely wrap up in 2024.
